What I Did Over Summer Vacation
The Archival Gallery is pleased to present the work of some of the gallery's top artists during the Month of August 2016.  The exhibition features works done this summer, making the art fresh and representing new directions for the participating artists.
Cindy Wilson's work centers on travel and includes large ceramic suitcases stacked and ready for the next adventure.

Mariellen Layne presents colorful outdoor mosaics.
Featured in the exhibit is a series of paintings done by Sacramento native Jeff Musser during his recent return from China to spend the summer in Sacramento painting in a borrowed studio.  These bold figurative works evoke the artist's transition from the comforts of home to the adventure of living in a country so different from our own.  He uses tattoos on his figures as part of the symbolism that gives the paintings a dark emotional feeling.
